Wind behaviour signatures reveal how the hive compensates for external airflow. Wind modulates shimmer texture, affects ventilation pulses, and influences entrance coordination. Some wind patterns are calm and steady; others show subtle modulation across the harmonic bands.
This category helps identify wind‑linked acoustic changes without confusing them for stress.
Wind‑Modulated Shimmer (Core Signature)
This is the most common wind behaviour.
You’ll hear/see:

shimmer line wobbling or rippling

slight instability in the 300–360 Hz band

harmonics softening above 500 Hz

Gust‑Interruption Tone (Gust Events)
These are short, beautiful dips.
You’ll see:

This is what your photo shows — bees absolutely charging the entrance.
You’ll see:

This is a sign of a confident hive.
Wind‑Suppressed Harmonic Tone (Strong Wind Periods)
When wind hits 20–25 km/h, you’ll get:

This is similar to heavy‑rain suppression but caused by airflow, not moisture.
Wind + Humidity Interaction Tone (Night or Moist Air)
